If you want to upload large files, the standard uploader can be a pain. Alternatively, you can use Dropbox to upload your course packages to GrassBlade.
Before moving ahead please take a look at all supported uploading methods.
Supported Uploading Methods
GrassBlade xAPI Companion support these content uploading methods:
What is Dropbox?
Dropbox is a cloud backup, file sharing, and syncing service, and uploading files to Dropbox is very simple. We assume that you already have a Dropbox account, if not you can create it now. And, upload your content packages.
To import xAPI or SCORM Content from Dropbox to WordPress using GrassBlade xAPI Companion, follow the steps given below:
- Create a Dropbox App Key. (Takes a minute)
- Configure your Dropbox App Key on the GrassBlade Settings page. (Take 15 seconds)
- Add a New xAPI Content and use “Choose from Dropbox” instead of the standard uploader. (Takes a minute)
A. Create a Dropbox App Key.
Go to https://www.dropbox.com/developers/apps/create (log in if not already logged in to Dropbox)
Step 1: Select Dropbox API and choose App folder for the type of access
Step 2: Enter a name for your app: GrassBlade – Your Site Name
Step 3: Click on Create App
Step 4: In the next page, type in your domain name under Chooser/Saver domains input.
Step 5: Click on Add
Step 6: You can see the App key, copy it for GrassBlade settings page.
B. Configure your Dropbox App Key on the GrassBlade Settings page. (Takes 15 seconds)
Step 7: Log in to your WordPress, go to GrassBlade Settings, enter your App Key, and update settings.
C. Add a New xAPI Content and use “Choose from Dropbox” instead of the standard uploader. (Takes a minute)
Step 8: Click on Add New under xAPI Content. Start adding the details.
Step 9: After adding the Dropbox App Key, you can see the Dropbox button. Click on it, and choose the package you want to upload to the server, directly from Dropbox.
Step 10: Update other settings if required and click on WordPress Publish button on the top right of the page.
You should see the Content Url, and Activity ID updated automatically, and the content and ready to be used.
You’re done. !!

Hi,
I used the Articulate Storyline 360 to create courses (TinCan xAPI). When I make a change to a course, republish, zip, and import the file that I made the change in, I am unable to see the changes to my course. Can you help understand why and what is the best resolution for this?
Thank you!
Jennifer
This should not be happening. Probably try to re-login. Or, if there is a caching plugin. You might need to try deleting cache, or disable the plugin. If the issue is still not resolved please create a support ticket.
Can the Dropbox Upload Method be used to upload a file, e.g. ‘xapi-content-new-for-import.csv’, which list the settings of any number of xAPI content items to the directory: /wp-content/uploads/grassblade/import/ ?
This is so the file can be selected in the ‘Files’ field of the following page:
xAPI Content > Bulk Import
in order that the file ‘xAPI-content-new-for-import.csv’ can be selected there and then imported to create xAPI content items in Bulk Import according to the settings in the file.
On the Bulk Import page and in the docs it recommends uploading xAPI content files using FTP or cPanel. I am trying to see if there is a way that someone could upload the settings file to that directory within WordPress without having an account with access to FTP or cPanel.
A little experiment here. I am trying to get the greater than symbol to work in this window.

Whenever I try to upload from Dropbox the file upload freezes at 95% and I’m not sure why. Has anyone encountered this?
Hi Zak,
What is the size of the file? And what host are you using?
It is most likely that either your server is not allowing an unzip of the file. Or, there is a timeout happening before the file is unzipped completely.
Please try bulk upload method to see if it works for you.
